After doing a few Google searches, I have found that the Matrix is currently made in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and the RAV4 is from one of Toyota’s assembly plants in Japan (but will soon be produced from Canada as well).
Considering ONLY these two vehicles, which one would you actually buy and why?
Please disregard the rumors of Toyota’s quality in recent news and other models in the Toyota lineup. And please DO NOT judge based on looks and the difference in price. Any info on the Canadian and Japanese assembly plants also welcomed.

Toyota was reputed to build better product. My engine was replaced @125000KM and now electrolytic converter gone at 180000KM. I am questioning whether I have a lemon from Toyota?
The car followed routine service interval religiously by the book at Toyota dealership.
1. When the engine gone at 125000KM, I was told the oil was not chnaged regularly that affected the engine. It make lots of noise, two of the cylinder gone.
2. I faxed all service records to Toyota head office, they replaced under customer service satisfaction guarentee, because the warranty is 100000KM or 5 years.
3. Last week, I went for routine oil and filter change service. They reported the front lower control arm worn, estimated cost = $600. After I drove away, not repair. The next day, the check engine symbol appeared on dash board. I went back on Saturday and had to pat $111 to do diagnostic check, they told me it’s code P0420 CAT EFFICIENCY CODE. Estimated C$1400 to replace. Wow, the Toyota is learning fast like BIG-3 Dealerdship tactics.
I found this very disturbing. Please comment on Toyota Quality, to send them a wake-up call on customer feeling.

Who here believes Hyundai will surpass Toyota?
Here are some Hyundai victories
hyundai azera vs toyota avalon
winner:hyundai azera
hyundai sonata vs toyota camry
victor:Hyundai sonata
Hyundai is also beating Toyota in driver satsifaction too.
So I think it will be a matter of time before this Korean juggernaut surpasses Toyota in reliability they just have one more step then Toyota is done.
Those Koreans are really starting to mess up the Japanese perception that only Japanese can make reliable
cars.Same with Samsung and Sony!!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder how long it will take for Hyundai to have a good consumer perception after all they having been making garbage until year 2002!!!
I drive Benzes and Toyotas,Toyotas are good Hyundais are good but Benzes are great! My Camry had an air conditioning problem and a transmssion problem but I dont say Toyotas are trash on the one assumption, other than those two faults my Toyota is very reliable!

It’s been 5 years Toyota has been in F1(it does not get more advanced than F1 @ $500,000,000 budgets for a “good team”, comparing NASCAR/CART team at about 5% of this)
Toytota makes a great product, and they make a lot of money. But most of what is touted in their commercials is actually licensed technologies from other companies…and the customer goes…Oh, there SO smart…
But money does NOT buy genius…
Toyota’s last investment in the world toughest 24 hour race…1/4 billion dollars on their GT1 and lost…Porsche spend 60 Million on their GT1, and won their 16th 24 hour of Le Mans.
I think it’s time for Toyota and Honda to stop embarrasing itself, and pull out. Honda after 7 years has had 1 victory. Go big or stay home.
